About Gannon University

Gannon University is a private, coeducational Catholic university located in Erie, which is the 4th largest city in the US state of Pennsylvania, having a population estimated at a number of more than 100 000 inhabitants. Erie is the seat of government for Erie County and it is in proximity to Cleveland, OH, BUffalo, NY, and Pittsburg, PA.


Gannon University was established in 1925, and has been a Top Tier Master's University, in the northern section of the USA, in US News & World Report's `America's Best Colleges` ranking, for the 6th consecutive year. The university currently offers its students, who number approximately 4000, associate's, master's, bachelor's and doctoral degrees, in a wide range of study areas.


Athletics

Gannon's athletic teams are known as the Golden Knights, which compete in NCAA Division II, in 18 (scholarship-granting) varsity sports, for both men and women, including baseball, basketball, football, golf, swimming, water polo and wrestling. Their distinctive colors are maroon and gold and their mascot is Drake the Golden Knight.
